Everything the Dieline Generator can do
From dimension reference to print PDF: every detail from the product, ordered by area. If it is not built, it is not listed here.
Construction
Parametric templates that recalculate with every dimension change.
- 108 templates in 9 categories: folding cartons, corrugated, rigid boxes, flat products, labels, bags, tubes, bands and custom shape.
- Every template has dimensions with limits and construction parameters such as flaps, angles and radii. The dieline is recalculated instantly.
- Geometry, checks and export are computed by a Swift kernel that runs as WebAssembly right in your browser.
- “From product size”: enter product dimensions plus clearance or padding and review the suggested size before applying it.
- Import your own cutting die as SVG, PDF or DXF (up to 780 KB) and assign line types per path group; the scale is detected (mm, cm, inch, px, pt, µm).
- Open project files in .packproj format – with assets, approvals and preview image.
Dimensions and units
Millimetres or inches – internally always accurate to the micrometre.
- Switch between mm and inch in the Dimensions panel; set your default unit in your account.
- Internally the editor works in whole micrometres (µm). Conversion: 1 inch = 25.4 mm.
- In dimension fields the arrow keys change the value by 0.1 mm (0.1/25.4 in inches).
- Arrow keys move selected elements by 1 mm, with Shift by 10 mm.
- Choose inside, outside or crease-to-crease dimensions where the template offers them.
Material and profiles
Board thickness, flute and machine feed into the construction.
Matching templates
- 9 starter materials: folding boxboard 300 and 400 g/m², micro flute E (1.6 mm), B flute (3.0 mm), C flute (4.0 mm), paper 120 g/m², label paper 80 g/m², PP label film and 1.5 mm greyboard.
- Flute profiles F, E, B, C, EB and BC; the flute selector appears for corrugated board.
- Material profiles with thickness (nominal, measured, compressed), grammage, minimum glue flap, minimum inner radius and crease allowance along and across the grain.
- 8 machine profiles from a 700 × 1000 die-cutter to a 1600 × 3200 mm cutting table, with sheet size, minimum knife radius, minimum slot width and tolerances.
- Production profiles set bleed (mostly 3 mm, corrugated flexo 5 mm) and safety margin (3 mm).
- Your own material, machine and production profiles with sheet, gripper margin, prices and set-up costs.Pro
- Bundled profiles are starting values – confirm them on the real material.
Checks and findings
Technical risks with rule ID, location and a fix.
- Every finding has a rule ID, a location and a hint; severities are info, warning and error.
- Rule groups: GEO (geometry), MFG (manufacturability), ART (artwork), IMG (images), TXT (text), BAR (codes), CLR (colours) and FIN (finishes).
- Blocking findings stop the export; you can override them with a reason.
- Line types cut, crease, perforation, bleed and safety margin – each in its own colour in the editor: cut black, crease red dashed, perforation blue, bleed cyan, safety margin grey.
- Print side outside and inside; the inside view is shown mirrored.
- Resolution check: a warning below 300 ppi, an error below 150 ppi.
- The manufacturability check compares against limits from the material and machine profiles. It does not replace a production sign-off.
Design
Artwork right on the dieline – with codes, colours and finishes.
Matching templates
- Tools for text, images, shapes (rectangle, rounded rectangle, ellipse, polygon, star, line) and codes.
- Images as PNG, JPEG, WebP, TIFF, SVG or PDF; place them linked or embedded, crop and mask them.
- QR, GS1 QR, GS1 DataMatrix, GS1-128, EAN-13, UPC-A and EAN-8, with check digit, length and GS1 syntax validation.
- Module size 100–2000 µm; default 330 µm (EAN/UPC), 495 µm (GS1-128), 500 µm (QR). Below the GS1 minimum, output is blocked. Quiet zones and human-readable text are adjustable.
- Colours in RGB, CMYK and as spot colours with tint and CMYK fallback; convert RGB to CMYK in one click (approximation without ICC profile). Overprint per fill and stroke.
- Finishes: gold, silver, copper or custom foil, gloss varnish, matte varnish, embossing and debossing.
- Designer mode with layers, groups, locking, opacity, guides, free rotation, paragraph and character styles, and snapping to panels, centres, objects, cut and crease lines.
- Brand library with colours, logos and fonts (OFL fonts or your own with licence confirmation), contrast check and JSON import/export.Pro
- Artwork on desktop and tablet; on a phone you can change dimensions, view 3D and export.
3D and mockups
Fold the pack, stage it and output it as an image, model or video.
Matching templates
- 3D fold preview with fold slider and animation, outside and inside with artwork.
- Material white, kraft, corrugated or metallic, matte or gloss; lighting softbox, studio, warm, daylight or contrast; background transparent, colour or gradient.
- Cameras perspective, front, top, inside, hero and close-up; aspect ratio free, 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9.
- Scenes with 2 to 12 packs in a row, grid, stack or free arrangement.
- Varnish and foil (gold, silver, copper) show up in 3D as material effects.
- Images as PNG or JPG at 2048, 4096 or 8192 px (8K), PNG also transparent.Pro
- 3D models as GLB or OBJ.Pro
- Video as MP4: folding or turntable, 12–60 fps, 1–20 seconds, up to 2048 px edge length.Pro
- 3D works by keyboard: rotate in 15° steps (3° with Shift), zoom, views on number keys.
Export and print
Separate outputs for cutting die and print image – traceable and reproducible.
- Production dieline as PDF, SVG or DXF, dieline as PNG (512–4096 px), artwork PDF and combined print PDF.Pro
- DXF in R12 or R2000, line types on separate layers.
- Print PDF in CMYK: cut as spot colour “Stanze”, crease and perforation on separate layers, overprint preserved.
- Text is converted to outlines in the PDF, fonts are embedded and their licence is checked.
- Delivered as a ZIP with manifest (checksums, kernel version, fonts). The download link is valid for 15 minutes, files are kept for 7 days.
- Imposition on the sheet: sheet 10–5000 mm, gripper margin, gap, bleed and grain direction; results show number up, utilisation, waste, cut and crease length and cost per piece.
- Series such as S, M and L: dimensions, parameters and texts per variant from CSV, TSV or XLSX; exported as a ZIP with one folder per variant.Pro
- Production report as PDF with approval.Pro
- A server export runs for at most 120 seconds; 2 in parallel per workspace.
Collaboration
Comment, approve and share – including with people without an account.
- Comments pinned to a position on the dieline or to a finding, with replies, @mentions and open/resolved status.
- External review link: reviewers comment without an account and approve or request changes with a reason. Optional expiry, revocable at any time.Pro
- View-only share link in 2D or 3D, optionally with expiry and password (8–128 characters), embeddable on up to 10 approved websites.Pro
- Workspaces with the roles owner, admin, editor and viewer.
- Projects with folders, search and sorting; autosave after about 2 seconds, trash for 30 days.

Account and billing
Start without an account, produce with Pro.
- Guest mode without an account: projects stay locally in your browser and can be moved into an account later.
- Free: all templates, checks and 3D with watermark, 3 projects, 100 MB storage, no export.
- Pro: US$12 monthly or US$120 yearly, tax included; all exports, no watermark, commercial use.
- Cancel in the customer portal or without signing in via “Cancel contracts here”; the subscription ends at the end of the term and your projects stay.
- If a payment fails, Pro stays active for 14 days.
- Permissions are enforced by the server, not the interface.
Privacy and technology
Data in Germany, full keyboard operation, nothing to install.
- Hosting in Germany (Hetzner, Falkenstein or Nuremberg) with our own database and object storage.
- Only necessary session cookies; usage statistics server-side and pseudonymised, Do Not Track and GPC are respected.
- Data export as a ZIP with profile, projects, assets and invoice list.
- Account deletion: data is removed within 30 days.
- Designed for WCAG 2.2 AA: visible focus, skip link, reduced motion, keyboard and screen reader operation.
- Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari; WebAssembly, Web Worker and WebGL2 are required.
