Tear strip widthtearStripWidth6 mm3–15 mmDistance between the tear strip's two perforations; the tear thread lies between them.
Tear strip offsettearStripOffset20 mm10–100 mmDistance of the tear strip from the flap crease; tear and adhesive strips must fit side by side on the flap with clearance.

Assembly

Glue the glue flap, erect the box, close the bottom with inner and outer flaps, and tape it. After filling, fold in the upper inner flaps, place the back outer flap over them, remove the release liner, and press the front flap over it. To open, grip the tear cord at the flap edge and tear out the strip.

Grain direction

Flute direction parallel to the height: stable for stacking (check with the test print shop).

Frequently asked questions about this template

Is the bottom also self-adhesive?

No. The bottom consists of inner and outer flaps as on a regular slotted box and is closed with tape. Self-adhesive strips and tear strips belong to the lid. Clarify bottom gluing with the production partner based on product weight and shipping workflow; a top adhesive strip does not automatically make the bottom load-bearing.

What does the dieline show of the tear cord?

The two perforations are represented as geometry; the tear cord is an annotation. The dieline thus establishes the intended position. It confirms neither cord material, insertion method, nor opening force. These details must be checked in the production sample and with the executing facility.

Why do the strips not fit on small formats?

Tear strip, safety clearance, and adhesive strip share the upper outer flap. With a small inside width, this area can become too short. The constraint stripsFitOuterFlap therefore limits the tear strip distance. Adjust the dependent parameters together rather than moving the lines closer after export.

Can the lid be closed again after opening?

This V1 models a self-seal closure with one tear strip. A second adhesive strip for returns is not available as a separate parameter. This construction therefore cannot promise a return closure. For a reopenable tuck closure, there is the mailer with locking tabs.

What liner does the adhesive tape need?

The template does not specify approved adhesive tape for a particular liner. The starting value describes only adhesive strip width and position. Coordinate tape, coating, and print with the production facility. Check bonding and tearing on the actual corrugated board before approving a series.
