Glue flapglueFlap15 mm8–25 mmWidth of the glue flap used to glue the blank into a tube. The material requires a minimum width.
Glue flap angleglueFlapAngle12°0–20°Bevel at the ends of the glue flap; facilitates folding and erection.
Dust flap length (ratio)dustFlapRatio80 %50–95 %Dust flap length as a ratio of the available length.
Dust flap angledustFlapAngle20°0–45°Bevel of the dust flaps (also the ears on the mailer); larger angles prevent collisions during folding.
Dust flap reliefdustFlapReliefExpert2 mm1–5 mmDistance between dust flap and lid along the crease; at least the material thickness. The machine requires a minimum slot width.
Outer flapsealOuterFlap100 %50–100 %Depth of the outer flap as a proportion of the opening width; 100 % covers the entire opening.
Inner flapsealInnerFlap60 %30–100 %Depth of the inner flap as a proportion of the opening width. Outer and inner flaps must overlap by at least the material's minimum glue width (glue strip).

Assembly

Pre-break the blank along all creases, glue the glue flap to the inside of the back wall, and flatten it (factory). Erect at the filling facility, fold in the bottom dust flaps and inner flap, apply adhesive to the outer flap's glue strip, and press into place; close the top the same way after filling.
