ParameterDefaultRangeNote
Band widthbandWidth40 mm10–300 mmWidth of the belly band across the circumference; no greater than box height.
Glue flapglueFlap15 mm8–40 mmWidth of the glue flap used to glue the blank into a tube. The material requires a minimum width.

Assembly

Prebreak the creases, wrap the belly band around the box, and glue the flap inside to the back; alternatively, glue it first and slide it over the box.

Grain direction

Grain direction parallel to box height and wall creases (check)

Frequently asked questions about this template

Do I need the box's inside or outside dimensions?

You need the outside dimensions of the enclosed box cross section. Alternatively, the belly band's direct crease-to-crease dimensions are permitted. Inside dimensions are rejected. Box height serves as a limit for band width; it does not determine the circumference around length and width.

Why is the blank longer than twice the sum of length and width plus the flap?

With outside dimensions, the construction adds the effective band thickness to each of the four wall spacings. Paper 120 g/m² has a thickness of 0.15 mm in the starting profile. Four times this allowance adds 0.6 mm. Thickness and actual fit must be checked with the target material.

Can I make the belly band taller than the box?

The parameter range extends to 300 mm, but the bandWidth.atMost.depth constraint additionally limits band width to box height. With a starting height of 50 mm, a band width of 40 mm is permitted. A value of 60 mm violates this constraint.

Where is the glue flap attached?

The flap folds inward and is glued to the inside of the back. You can glue the band around the box or close it first and then slide it on. Check clearance and gluing. The model neglects the additional thickness of the inside flap.
